Mateusz Urbanowicz

Mateusz Urbanowicz is an interdisciplinary artist born and raised in Silesia, Poland, currently working from Tokyo.

After finishing Computer Graphics in Poland, he moved to Kobe, Japan, to focus his studies on animation and comics.

Since 2013 he has been working as a full-time animation background artist, taking part in creating feature-length animated movies (like Your Name.).

He moved to a freelance artist career to focus on his original projects in 2017 and started working on the bestselling Tokyo Storefronts and Tokyo at Night watercolor illustration albums.

He continues to create illustrations, paintings, animations, and comics that often aim to show Japan's colorful, nostalgic and fantastic side.
